CSR Initiative Visit to Vatsalya Trust, Mumbai - 17th Jan, 2014

MGM has always believed in giving back to society through various means –hospitals, free education, blood donation camps and various other ways. Last year a different idea came to our mind, that along with Corporate Social Responsibility, there should be some learning for our upcoming generations who have become so intolerant and irresponsible towards their elders. Last year and this year again we visited Vatsalya Trust’s Old age home in Navi Mumbai with the idea to see why and how people turn to old age homes. Our students interacted with the elderly people, played games, recited self written poems and sang songs which the elderly really enjoyed. We also made a small contribution through little gifts as a token of our respect .The elderly shared their experiences and our students came back with lots of learning .During the time spent with them, we realized that they crave for our love and want us to spend time with them. The students came back from the Vatsalya with an insight into the life of the elderly and vowed to visit them again if only to add a little happiness to a few moments of their lives.
